As a vendor-independent governance architect with deep Microsoft expertise, we support the industrial sector, public authorities, financial services, critical infrastructure operators, healthcare, and defense—from the initial assessment to long-term operations.

With the completion of the EU Data Boundary (February 2025) and the launch of the Microsoft Sovereign Cloud (June 2025), the focus has shifted from "Where is the data stored?" to "Who controls access?". This is exactly where we come in.

Who We Are

We are the Digital Sovereignty team at PlanB. with a clear mission: we are the German sovereign cloud partner for Microsoft ecosystems.

We view sovereignty as the overarching principle that connects governance and compliance: sovereignty answers the "why" (strategic control), governance the "how" (management and enforcement), and compliance the "must" (proof for regulators).

Our team consists of certified security and compliance experts, supported by a network of accredited associates for peak workloads. A proprietary toolkit ensures consistent delivery quality in every mandate. As part of the PlanB. Agentic AI Strategy 2026-2028, we operate under the motto "From automation to autonomous value creation," anchoring sovereignty as a trust factor in every AI transformation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What We Cover

We manage the entire sovereignty lifecycle—consulting, implementation, and operations:

Assessment & Analysis: Sovereignty readiness assessments and data flow & transfer impact assessments in accordance with EDPB guidelines
Target Architecture: Sovereign cloud target models and deployment decisions (public, private, partner cloud) based on a three-tier model
Implementation: Regulated landing zones with policy-as-code, customer-managed keys/DKE/EKM rollouts, and Microsoft Purview governance
Regulatory Programs: AI & Data Act compliance as well as DORA and NIS2 programs with robust control evidence
Operations: The Sovereign Operations managed service for continuous, auditable operations
Enablement: Board-level sovereignty briefings and role-based training

An institutionalized regulatory radar (Microsoft Product Terms, BSI, ENISA, EDPB, BaFin) keeps all of this up to date.
